Susanna is a Morristown native who first discovered Midwives of New Jersey when she was pregnant with her oldest son over 9 years ago. She comes to us with a BS in Health Promotion from the University of Georgia, a BS in Nursing from Augusta University, and MS in Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University. Prior to becoming a midwife Susanna worked for 6 years as a labor and delivery nurse, first in Georgia and then here at Morristown Medical Center and Our Birthing Center. She spent almost a year with us as a midwifery student and loved it so much she decided to stay.
Susanna is passionate about giving women the opportunity to have a physiologic birth. She believes that empowering and supporting birthing persons fosters self confidence and helps new families to thrive. She values evidence based care and strives to stay abreast of current research and changing recommendations.
Susanna spends her free time playing with her 3 children – 9 year old son, 4 year old daughter, and 2 year old son. She loves to spend time outside hiking, swimming, attending children’s sporting events, camping, and generally exploring. In colder weather she pursues her love of crosswords and board games.
Susanna is excited to be part of the team here at Midwives of New Jersey and cannot wait to meet you and your families!
