The Midwives of New Jersey: Now Offering Midwifery Care in Guttenberg, NJ

Hoboken, New Jersey – April 17th, 2023  – The Midwives of New Jersey recently announced that they are now offering Midwifery care in Guttenberg, NJ.

The new office will be located inside Our Birthing Center on the Hudson in the Galaxy Mall.  The Midwives are currently seeing clients at Cultivate Chiropractic, also in the Galaxy until the birth center opens.

The Midwives of New Jersey will begin delivering babies in the Guttenberg birth center which is slated to open September 2023.  Initially, they will be taking a limited number of clients who are due in the months of September, October and November.  For anyone interested in becoming a client, the Midwives offer an online virtual orientation.

Since 2010, the Midwives of New Jersey have worked toward increasing Midwifery access in New Jersey, opening practices in Mount Olive, Madison and now Guttenberg. The practice’s goal is to improve pregnancy and birth outcomes through the application of the Midwifery Model of Care, treating pregnancy and birth as a normal physiologic process.

It is our desire to offer women greater access to birth center care and birth choice. By expanding our practice into Guttenberg, we will be able to serve even more families in the New York City and Northeastern New Jersey areas. Our Birthing Center on the Hudson gives our clients access to the widest range of birth choices available like water labor and birth, eating and drinking in labor and freedom to choose labor and birth positions.

Our Birthing Center opened its Morristown center in 2018 as the first and only freestanding birth center in New Jersey in 20 years. The Midwives of New Jersey have been delivering babies at the Morristown birth center since its inception and have worked together with OBC to launch a second birth center in Guttenberg NJ, Our Birthing Center on the Hudson. 

We are excited to build upon the success of Our Birthing Center of Morris County and now open our second open-model birthing center, Our Birthing Center on the Hudson. It is our mission to empower women and give them the beautiful birthing experience they rightfully deserve. We are thankful to the Midwives of New Jersey for all they do for the birthing community and are excited to continue working alongside them in this exciting new endeavor.

The new birth center will be designed to support women through physiologic birth and the Midwifery Model of Care placing clients at the center of their care.  The new birth center overlooks New York City and will offer luxurious birthing suites, that include spa like showers, birthing tubs, queen beds, WiFi, essential oil diffusers, private air control & blue tooth speakers in each suite.

About Our Birthing Center 

Our Birthing Center opened in January 2018 as the only freestanding birthing center in New Jersey. The center was built upon the belief that childbirth is not an illness and should not be treated as such. Our Birthing Center wishes to empower women and make them partners in the decision-making process of their birthing experience.
