Weight Gain

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to pregnancy weight gain; the ideal amount of weight you should gain during pregnancy depends on numerous factors including your pre-pregnancy weight and your body mass index. You should work with your health care provider to determine the amount of weight that is healthy for you to gain during pregnancy. Of course, it is also important to eat as nutritiously as possible during pregnancy.

Things to Try:

  • Less carbs and sugar, more protein
  • Avoid sugar, fatty foods, and processed food
  • Stay active
  • Don’t worry; everyone gains weight differently during pregnancy
