This job involves both administrative tasks and direct patient care. The office nurse collaborates with the staff and midwives to ensure smooth patient care and workflow during office hours. Additionally, they assist the on-call midwife with calls and tasks on a PRN basis, particularly when labor clients are present. The nurse should assist with blood draws, Non Stress Tests, returning patient calls, and assessing the 28-week prenatal clients, as well as 1-2 week postpartum clients and any follow-up they require. Administrative work includes doing disability claims, ordering medications and vaccines, calling in prescriptions, and obtaining pre-authorizations.
Job Type
Part-time. There are 2-3 nurses employed by Midwives of NJ, hired at a part-time, 2-3 days a week rate.
Minimum Qualifications

- High School Graduate or Equivalent certification (Required)
- RN License in good standing (Required)
- RN Certification (BSN Preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
- Understanding of and desire to practice within the Midwifery Model of Care
Desired But Not Mandatory
- Willing to work at different offices as needed
- Labor and delivery experience
- Personal or professional experience working with Midwives
