While a growing number of pregnant women are becoming aware of the many benefits of seeing a midwife as their primary care provider, they may not be aware that new research reveals that choosing a midwife equates to better birth outcomes and less interventions!
The study performed by the Cochrane Review revealed that “compared with women who mainly saw family physicians or obstetricians, or whose care was shared by some mix of doctors, nurses and midwives, women who had a midwife as their lead provider had fewer interventions and were less likely to deliver a premature baby.”
This is great news for moms and babies!
